Tourism is the largest industry in Citrus County. And it benefits everyone of us in ways we may never have imagined.

Tourism doesn't just support the local lodging industry. As guest visitation to our communities ebbs and flows, so do the revenues of nearly every business sector.

To help drive tourism, the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners established the Tourist Development Council (TDC). We are a team of professionals from the lodging and attraction industries, as well as private business and local government. We are dedicated to helping Citrus County prosper.

The TDC is supported by the Visitors & Convention Bureau (VCB), which provides visitor information and markets our county to the world. The VCB is led by its new Executive Director, Marla Chancey, who has substantial experience in the field locally.

In describing Citrus County, we like to say, "In the Heart of Florida, You'll Discover its Soul." On behalf of every member of the TDC, I applaud the tireless efforts of the thousands of tourism professionals - from hotel staff to fishing guides, attraction operators and more - who are the true heart and soul of Citrus County tourism.
